Mr. Jamal Benomar is widely known as a pro-democracy activist, human rights defender, diplomat, and international mediator. His international career spans across 35 years, including 25 years at the United Nations, where he rose to the rank of Under-Secretary General in recognition of his achievements.

He has successively been Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights and Director of the UN Centre for Human Rights in Geneva (1992-1997), Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs (1997-2002), Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for the Great Lakes region (2002-2007).
Dr Youssef Mahmoud is Senior Adviser at the International Peace Institute (IPI), supporting the sustainable development and peace operations programs, and serving as the focal point on mediation and prevention policies and practices. He is a former UN Under-Secretary-General and has headed peace operations in Burundi, the Central African Republic and Chad.
Mr. Haile Menkerios is a former Under-Secretary General and Special Representative of the UN Secretary General to the African Union (2013-1018). He held various positions during his tenure in the United Nations including as Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Sudan and South Sudan (2011-2013).
Dr Tarek Mitri is former Under-Secretary General of the United Nations and Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Libya. He is currently the President of St George University of Beirut. Dr Mitri held several ministerial positions in the Lebanese Government: Minister of Culture
Ahmedou Ould Abdallah is the former Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Mauritania, and former Minister of Commerce and Transportation, as well as former Ambassador to Washington and to the European Union in Brussels.
Justice Leila Zerrougui is the former Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) (January 2018-February 2021).
